Knowing some of you guys on here strive for 'hi-fi' audio I've a couple of
questions to ask about the aforementioned unit......

Using a phantom powered condenser mike, what is the correct procedure for
setting the mike gain (on the rear of the unit) and the clip level on the
front?

...ok, so that's only one question says Mr. Pedant. Don't worry, there'll be
more!!!

Thanks ...Andre

Mic gain should work out of box - but set for correct volume. Clipping
controls the amount of feedback supression. So I guess the answer is
set up your acoustic guitar or violin or whatever in your venue and
wait for feedback then back it off with the clipping control.

I fail to see what use it would be in amateur radio. Perhaps you could
turn it round and stick it on the audio out and use it as an auto notch
filter on HF, because that's basically what it does (to eliminate
feedback and bumps etc particularly prevalent on amplified acoustic
guitars etc.)

The primary use is for the condenser mike to be placed centrally (or
thereabouts) within a rehearsal room to pick up the sound of drums, bass,
guitar and vocals to be recorded into either a analogue or digital recorder.
Quality is not paramount as we're pretty lo-fi anyway but a good mix and
ease/speed of setup is preferable. Secondary use would be to record multi
tracks of instruments and vocals and i'm also trying it on my 756pro.
There's nothing in the manual to explain how to obtain the optimum mike gain
setting and clip level. The setup is mike into DSP110 into radio. The dsp110
is only there to provide 48v phantom power but requires the levels setting
to work correctly.

Behringer Shark DSP110? Is that based on the Analogue Devices "Sharc" family
of DSP processors?

Or is the k significant and the Bellringer DSP units are based on a
different technology?

You continue to make a fool out of yourself with your
rather silly and infantile jibes.
